oh man. these are so good.
this brilliant, minimalist series from tano veron captures the essence of famous movies with just blocks of color. crazy good!
made me think about how i would do this with some of my favorite movies.

the best designers are those that can say a lot with very little. it's incredibly difficult to peel away all of the layers of a concept, idea, product and arrive at the essence of what it is; and even harder to have the restraint to convey JUST that. i love this series by christian jackson, aka sinch, because it does just that. they're also nostalgic while still being modern which is kind of amazing. these pieces are such a reminder of the power of symbols: he's focused in on the core image of each of these beloved stories and (since he picked the right ones) he's able to use our associations and memories in order to convey so much with so little.
